Counselling
I am a counsellor based in Nottingham, and I work with adults, children and young people, from ages 5 and upwards. Clients seek me out for all sorts of reasons. Your issue might feel like a ball of wool – a jumble – you’re not sure where the start is, or the end, or how it even got that way. Counselling is about feeling safe enough to express your feelings through art, play, or talking with someone who can help you unpick your issue, at your own pace, helping you to understand yourself, in partnership with a counsellor who can give you the conditions to allow you to help yourself. I specialise in counselling children , and counselling around issues such as miscarriage, baby loss and fertility , parenting support , parent and child joint sessions and counselling in schools .
I am a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered counsellor with 17 years experience, as well as 26 years working with children and families. I have worked in a variety of settings including Framework supporting adults with mental health issues, Sure Start supporting families, Women’s Aid supporting women experiencing domestic abuse, and Family Care counselling children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse. In addition, I have counselled adults and children with a variety of issues. I have an enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service), renewed regularly.
